Our team thrives on pushing creative boundaries of the norm, and our recent project with Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) gave us the perfect runway to do just that. CFW, known for its two iconic annual shows, wanted to shake things up for their 2025 April event by spotlighting fresh talent from across the country. As part of this evolution, they introduced a series of smaller events, merging fashion with music, art, and culture. Our mission? To capture the essence of “new faces” in a visually stunning film that would leave audiences in awe. The concept was bold yet simple: two emerging models, no elaborate storyline, just pure artistry. Instead of leaning on narrative, we let the visuals do the talking. The film opened in black and white, with silhouetted figures gradually stepping into color as the models were revealed. The goal wasn’t to dazzle with flash or spectacle, but to let the elegance of each frame take center stage. We employed two distinct visual styles—classic white backgrounds with minimal silhouettes and low-key lighting against black, where soft light delicately outlined the models. The real magic? CFW gave us total creative freedom to experiment, and we ran with it. Balancing two lighting techniques while keeping the film cohesive was the kind of challenge we live for at Tones & Colours. It was an opportunity to blend minimalist artistry with high fashion, all while spotlighting the future faces of fashion, where standing out is key.
